The National Quarterback Club Award

NQBC HISTORY

The National Quarterback Club has long been a name synonymous with the NFL and over the past 23 years has been associated with top players, coaches, managers, and executives throughout the National Football League. NFL fans have had the opportunity to interact directly with NFL greats through The National Quarterback Club Awards Dinner.

In 1985, the inaugural National Quarterback Club Awards Dinner, which recognized the top quarterbacks from the NFL, collegiate, and high school ranks, was held in Washington, D.C. The National Quarterback Club presented awards to Jim McMahon (Chicago Bears), NFL Quarterback of the Year, Chuck Long (University of Iowa), National College Quarterback of the Year, Jeff George (Warren Central (IN) HS), National High School Quarterback of the Year, while Sammy Baugh of the Washington Redskins and Sid Luckman of the Chicago Bears were inducted into The National Quarterback Club hall of Fame.
